RainingClouds Technologies – A new, hi-tech, products start up in the mobile applications business (apps) announced the launch of its service http://appsurfer.com while simultaneously raising a seed round of funding commitment from One97’s Mobility Fund.
RainingClouds is pioneering the concept of creating a ‘virtual’ browsing experience for mobile apps on the Internet. The need for this service is simple. There are almost 1 Million apps on the apps market; yet there is no way for consumers to easily experience, browse and sample these apps before they (consumers) download them on their mobile devices.
AppSurfer.com’s unique IP and technology allows the app owners to easily upload their apps on the appsurfer.com site, immediately own an ‘app webpage’ that showcases their app on a virtual phone and then allow developers to share that page amongst friends, colleagues and clients. With just a few minutes of effort, developers can create a virtual, internet presence of their precious app that otherwise remains buried in mobile app stores.
Aniket Awati – CEO of Appsurfer.com said, “We believe that the process of apps discovery is broken, clumsy and inefficient. We have created a globally relevant and cutting edge solution to convert that major problem into a massively scalable business. The benefits of appsurfer.com are obvious. App developers can enjoy better search results of their apps on the Internet, create demonstrable ‘try before you buy’ models and greatly enhance the download velocity of their apps. We are currently addressing the Android market and will extend our technologies to the other mobile operating systems later.”
The Company has also received an early, Rs. 1 crore investment commitment from One97 Mobility Fund. This round of funding happened at ET Now Super Angels show, which brings angels and entrepreneurs together on stage for funding.
Vijay Shekhar Sharma of One97 Mobility Fund said, “Sincerity and technology skills of Appsurfer team is remarkable. They have taken a simple technology and made it massively useful. Appsurfer can create many new business models and disrupt the mobile application market. I am glad we will be part of journey together.“
AppSurfer has also appointed Games2win’s CEO and Co-Founder Alok Kejriwal as its business adviser.
Alok Kejriwal said, “The moment I heard the AppSurfer pitch, I was sold. At Games2win, we constantly face the challenge of creating good visibility for our many apps and the AppSurfer solution addresses that need so perfectly. Apart from a business relationship, I am also delighted to assist Aniket and the AppSurfer team in their journey of creating a global, world class technology product Company from India”.
AppSurfer.com and RainingClouds Technology are based in Pune and the founder team comprises of Aniket (CEO), Ratnadeep(Tech), Amit(Business), Akshay(Tech). All four founders are close friends and are engineering students of the local Pune University.
